Becker wins Challenge
NZPA-AAP Adelaide The West German, Boris Becker, boomed through Henri Leconte, of France, in the final of the Rio International Tennis Challenge in Adelaide. With his usual pounding serve and aggressive returns, Becker took the match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Gaining control quickly in the first set, including three straight aces in the eighth game, Becker went on to win relatively easily 6-4. But with the Adelaide temperature at 34 degrees Celsius at the start of the match, both players were feeling the heat, and the second set was a tougher one for the world No. 2.
