Creation and evolution

Sir,—l consider that the “Economist” article, “Why creationism is bogus” (January 5), is unbalanced, uninformed, prejudiced. The writer builds his case against creationists, and their right to equal, time in school curricula, on false premises: One, that “many Christians are evolutionists.” This is not true. Nominal Christians may be, but true Christians cannot be. Two, that creationism, postulates only one view of creation. Wrong. There are three basic ideas shared by Christians, but all involve the mind, will, and

acts of God. Three, the evidence in support of creation Js .“derisory and deceitful.” OjiWie contrary, creationism provides ample evidence to satisfy reason and logic. The great mind of Albert Einstein accepted that evidence. Four, creationists ask for common honesty in the classroom. It is not honest dealing to present a theory ds a fact Too many young people have had a foundation removed from beneath their feet by such dubious practice. The grim results are seen in today’s society.—Yours, etc.,
