DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION NEW ZEALAND—FIJI Registered Land Surveyor for Forestry Applications are invited for the above position which will be funded under New Zealand's Programme of Official Development Assistance. The position is for up to two years, located at Suva. The successful applicant will be required to take up the appointment in early 1987. The surveyor will be responsible to the Conservator of Forests for all legal boundary surveys of all forestry leases in accordance with Fiji legal standards and requirements. The appointee will also be required to undertake height controls and control network surveys required to map forestry leases, and to coordinate all survey work undertaken under this contract with the Director for Lands and Surveyor General. The appointee will be required to train a local counterpart to carry out the forest survey work by the end of the project period. Applicants must have a Diploma or Degree in land surveying recognised in Fiji, and must have at least five years experience in legal land boundary surveys and height control surveys for topographical mapping and from aerial photographs. The personal qualities of the successful applicant will be important. Terms and conditions of appointment are set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and salary is based on existing salary paid.
