NATIONAL CO-ORDINATOR AGRONOMICS I.H.C. wishes to appoint a National Co-ordinator to promote and assist in the development of selfsupporting enterprises throughout New Zealand in the area of agronomics. Agronomics embraces agriculture, horticulture, forestry and land use. These enterprises will be expected to provide meaningful employment for people with an intellectual handicap and to generate Income for the workers with an intellectual handicap. With financial assistance from the Sutherland Self Help Trust, I.H.C. has begun to develop community commercial enterprises with particular emphasis on agronomics to assist persons with intellectual handicap in the rural sector. The successful applicant will be a mature individual with proven experience in commercial activities in the rural sector, and the ability to motivate and advise potential employers and IHC staff working with people with a wide range of special needs. The job entails not only helping strengthen the work of our public sector roundsmen, but also initiating stories, particularly hard news inquiries. The successful journalist will be a senior reporter with political experience, a healthy scepticism, a vigorous reporting style, and an ability to work as part of a team. He or she will be an organised reporter; have a wide range of contacts; and be able, to stand in for the chief reporter and her assistant if necessary. GENERAL REPORTER We are also looking for a general reporter, probably graded J6-plus, with a solid background in hard news reporting. The position would probably suit best a reporter who has spent some time on a provincial newspaper learning how to do a range of assignments quickly and accurately.
