Duties shall include systems performance monitoring, auditing the use of computer system resources, promoting the use of the computer system, planning for future usage and expansion, establishing and maintaining standards, reporting on system expenditure and responsibility for computer budget control. The position is being offered either as a permanent one or on a contract basis for a minimum period of two years. Salary is negotiable in the middle management range. I INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION NEW ZEALAND—PAPUA NEW GUINEA Forest Planning Adviser Applications are invited for the above position which will be funded under New Zealand's Programme of Official Development Assistance. The position is for up to two years, located at Port Moresby. The successful applicant will be required to take up the appointment in early 1987. The appointee will assist national Department of Forests counterparts develop skills in the preparation of forest policy directives for: —economic development —revenue generation —employment creation —resource replacement — resource inventory. Applicants must have a degree in forestry with not less than eight years experience in field forest practice, preferably some tropical forestry experience, and a proven interest and ability in forest mensuration and investment analysis. Terms and conditions of appointment are set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and salary is based on existing salary paid. Airfares, transfer costs and allowances will be paid. The position is for up to two years, located at Suva. The successful applicant will be required to take up the appointment in early 1987. The adviser is required to expand the functions of the Management Services Division of the Ministry of Forests, in collecting, analysing and dissemination of the information required for developmental planning. The appointee will work primarily on the development and implementation of a comprehensive forest data base and reporting system for Fiji's forest resources. Applicants must be graduates with a strong analytical background in forest resources, biometrics and management. They should be competent in computer programming, modelling and developing data base systems. The personal qualities of the successful applicant will be important.
