Dead boy named
The police have released the name of a boy who died after a motor accident at Russley on Wednesday afternoon. He was Vernon Andrew Wills, aged 12, of Picton. The boy was a passenger in one of two cars which collided at the intersection of Russley Road and Avonhead Road about 2.35 p.m.
He suffered head injuries in the crash and died later in hospital. An elderly woman who was driving the car was taken to hospital with moderate head injuries, and a man in the other car suffered minor injuries.
