Obituary Miss Moyre Todd
PA Wellington
Miss Moyre Todd, a sister of the motor industry leader, Sir Bryan Todd, has died in Wellington. She was 85. Miss Todd was born in Central Otago and went to England in 1925 where she worked as a Red Cross officer during World War 11.
Returning to New Zealand in 1946, she took up a series of charitable causes, objectives which at that time had “astounded” her family, a
family spokesman said. Some of her charities had come to light only since her death. She was noted for her educational scholarships, and her work with the Save the Children Fund. Miss Todd battled through long illness with “fortitude and patience,”, the spokeman said. She is survived by her brother, Sir Bryan, and her sister, Mrs Sheila Whyte. Sir Bryan is the son of the founder of the Todd Group, Mr Charles Todd.
