Vietnam floods
NZPA-Reuter Bangkok At least 165 people were killed and many injured when unprecedented floods hit vast areas in central Vietnam, the official Vietnam News Agency said yesterday. The agency, monitored in Bangkok, quoted a delayed report as saying hundreds, of houses, schools and other buildings were washed away or
demolished during the floods, in most districts of Nghia Binh, Phu Khanh, Quang Nam Da Nang, Thuan Hai and GialaiKdntum provinces on December 3 and 4. Tens of thousands of hectares of rice and other crops were destroyed and substantial damage caused to roads, dykes and irrigation works, it added.
