Refusal to fasten belt
PA Wellington Police were called aboard an Air New Zealand domestic flight from Auckland to Wellington on Monday after a passenger refused to fasten his seat belt. An Air New Zealand spokesman said the man adamantly refused to do up his belt although he was asked to do so several
times by cabin crew and finally the captain. The passenger apparently told the crew he could not wear a belt because he had stomach ulcers.
When the plane landed the passenger, who was not injured, was escorted from the plane by the police. No charge was laid.
