BASS will provide a highly sophisticated telephone booking service in addition to the established counter services currently available. MANAGER REPORTING TO THE DIRECTOR of the AOTEA CENTRE, the manager will be responsible for the total day-to-day management of the operation and its profitability. The applicant should have a thorough knowledge of theatrical box-office operations although training in the BASS Computer system will be provided initially. Applicants must be able to negotiate at all levels and have a strong background in marketing as the position heads the New Zealand wide network. The manager will introduce the system to New Zealand, establishing the administrative infrastructure and the accounting procedures. The Audit control of the operation will be through the Auckland City Council, Treasury. Since the installation of the system takes place from March, 1987, the appointment will be made early to allow for training and familiarisation in Melbourne and Sydney on two highly successful operations. The successful applicant will ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the network and maintain the ticket selling software providing practical and technical support to the operation. It is expected that applicants will have experience at a supervisory level in Computer operations, a knowledge of UNIX operating systems and on-line applications of mini-Computer systems. A knowledge of theatre box-office procedures would be an advantage.
