The Local Government Commission has recently initiated a proposal for the union of the Counties of Manawatu and Kalranga to form a Manawatu District, effective from April 1,1988, and it is envisaged that the successful applicant would on completion of a satisfactory probationary period retain the same duties and level of seniority in the new authority structure. It is desirable that the appointee reside in the community of Sanson where a three bedroomed dwelling could be made available at a moderate rental, but applications will be considered from persons residing within or in close proximity to the boundaries of the proposed Manawatu District.
