Speaking rights to be promoted
A decision to promote a remit at the next annual meeting of the Trotting Conference in July to enable the national Owners, Trainers and Breeders’ Association, the Trainers and Drivers’ Association, and the Standardbred Breeders’ Association to send one representative each to future annual meetings as’ an observer with speaking rights was made at a meeting of the executive held in Christchurch this week.
Previously such observers have not been entitled to address the meeting.
The Breeders’ Advisory
Sub-committee of the conference is to recommend to the executive that in future family numbers should be included in the New Zealand Trotting Stud Book.
Approval was given by the executive for the Hawera Trotting Club to change its name to the Hawera Harness Racing Club.
Mr Dewar Robertshaw, of Auckland, the president of the conference has been re-elected to a further term as chairman of the Inter-Dominion Trotting Council. This action was taken at a meeting held recently in Adelaide.
