Mr Goulden to claim damages
Blenheim reporter The general manager of the Marlborough Harbour Board, Mr Michael Goulden, has filed a claim in the High Court at Blenheim for more than $163,000 damages. The claim is against the Harbour Board for the cost of legal proceedings after Mr Goulden was dismissed by the board in 1984. In July of this year he was reinstated to the post of general manager after the Appeal Board found that he had been unfairly dismissed. The total claim is for $163,697. ' The costs claimed are a net total of $92,517 for his counsel (Messrs Phillips Shayle-George and Company), $50,179 for solicitors’ fees (London, Radich and Dow), and travel and accommodation costs for
Mr Goulden ($500) and his counsel ($500). Continuing costs for counsel and his solicitor and interest on their fees are also included.
