Award for gorse evaluation
Successful research into gorse as a productive and renewable farming resource has won a M.A.FJ scientist, Dr Joan Radcliffe, this year’s Coopers Farm Management Award. The “Radcliffe Method” is applicable throughout New Zealand either for eradication of gorse or for its controlled management as a valuable goat fodder, the company said. The $3OOO award recognises a six-year research programme conducted from the Lincoln Agricultural Research Centre.
