We are seeking a person with proven managerial skills in the building industry or related profession, to assume responsibility as head of our Advisory Group. Totalling 15 staff throughout New Zealand the group’s principal duty is to act as an interface between those with information needs in the building industry and the resources and facilities offered by BRANZ, thus attempting to prevent problems through the supply of information and education. Along with the overall responsibility for the general operation and administration of the Advisory Group, duties related to the position include: Formulation of targets and budgets for the group, the monitoring of attainments, and identification of how services could be improved and the resource changes required to achieve this; Recommendations for all group staff appointments and personnel considerations (e.g. leave, remuneration, training/retraining); Integration of the Advisory Group’s activities with those of the BRANZ organisation. The Group Head would be expected to participate in policy formulation for the whole of BRANZ and in BRANZ management group tasks. The position is based at our Head Office at Judgeford however the successful applicant would be expected to travel regularly both between the regional offices in Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin and to any functions outside Wellington as necessary’ to represent the Association.
