The variation has been prepared in two parts. Part one deals with amendments within each zone or general ordinance and Part two provides for an update of parking and access standards. VARIATION 26 The Council has reviewed the provisions for professional, commercial and administrative office development In the three Industrial Zones of the District Scheme. The council has recognised the growing Interest in and suitability of parts of the Industrial zones for office development, namely accessibility to the central city and major traffic routes, proximity to labour markets, ability to provide substantial offstreet car parking, height profile road frontage and the proximity to the shopping centre. The Council has therefore resolved to widen the provisions of the Industrial zones to allow for office development. The Variations may be inspected at the Council Office, 199 Clarence Street, Riccarton. during office hours. Submissions and objections to the Variations or any part thereof may be made by any person or body affected or representing some relevant aspect of the public interest. Submissions and objections shall be in writing on Form C as set out in the First Schecule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1978, available at the Council Office, or to the like effect, and shall be lodged at the Council Office, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 1987. At a later date every submission and objection will open for public inspection and any body or person who wishes to support or oppose any submission or objection will be entitled to do so.
