Safer diving
Underwater Diving: Basic Techniques. By Peter Dick and David Sisman. Pelham Books/Hodder and Stoughton, 1986. 144 pp. $33 approx.
An English diver and book designer have combined their talents to produce a profusely illustrated training guide for underwater work. Dick has run diving schools in many places including Malta and Kenya, and led an expedition to the Azores looking for Sir Richard Greville’s Revenge, sunk 400 years ago. He is a qualified professional diver and national instructor in Britain. The book is intensely practical, with the emphasis on techniques, equipment, and safety. The book can be used by itself as a training .guide; it would also be a splendid supplement to a formal training course.
