Documents appeal allowed
NZPA-AAP Sydney The Court of Appeal has granted the British Government leave to appeal against the decision by the judge in the M. 1.5 spy case that it should produce documents it once kept secret to the defence.
The appeal will be heard next Thursday. In the meantime, time for compliance with the production order has been extended and the hearing of the original case before Justice Powell will continue in the Equity Division of the Supreme Court today. The British Government is seeking a permanent injunction restraining the publication of the memoirs of a former M. 1.5 agent Peter Wright, who now lives in Tasmania.
