Paddy Busuttin-trained double likely today

Special correspondent Wellington Foxton trainer, Paddy Busuttin, has real prospects of picking up both legs of the T.A.B. double at Waipukurau Jockey Club’s meeting at Waipukurau today.

Busuttin has Linecall in the first leg, the class-two P. F. Wall Memorial, and Crimesta in the Williams and Kettle Handicap, the second leg. Linecall, a mare by Sir Tristram, comes to Waipukurau fresh from a most convincing win at Wanganui last Saturday. That effort came after the

closest of seconds at Levin three days earlier. The greatest threat to Linecall could be Whata Beauty, which has raced twice this season for a sixth at Feilding, a month ago, and an excellent fourth in the Bulls 10,000 at the Rangitikei meeting. Exemplify, which was successful at Woodville last month at her second attempt in a fresh campaign, will also be among the top fancies.

After a hat-trick of wins — one at Rotorua and two at Riccarton — Crimesta comes into today’s sprint, the second leg of the T.A.B. double with a last-

start fourth on her record. Last Saturday Crimesta was fourth in the Birch Handicap at Wanganui. It was a sound effort for she lost her place in the running and was not that far from the winner, Avontor, at the finish. Cambridge six-year-old, In Profile, second last time out at Dargaville, must be given some chance of success as he missed Ellerslie on Wednesday to run here and the Hastings-trained, Laurent, a good second when resuming at Woodville last month, might be the hardest for Crimesta to beat.
