Battle hots up
The battle between industry giants N.Z. Forest Products and Fletcher Challenge for shareholder attention will step up early next week as N.Z. Forest Products mails its formal response on the current take-over bid to shareholders. The mailing barrage, expected to begin on Monday, will be backed by special shareholder meetings in the three major centres. NZFP’s chairman, Mr Lyn Papps, has already said that the take-over offer is "totally inadequate” and in no way reflects the real value of the company and its shares.
