Ministry apologises for blow
PA Wellington The Ministry of Defence has apologised to the “Dominion" newspaper reporter who was struck at by a Ministry staff member in Stout Street earlier this month. acting defence lie relations officer, Major Mike Wicksteed, told the
newspaper yesterday that investigations into the incident, where defence documents were found strewn along the footpath, gutter and roadway outside Defence Headquarters in Stout Street, had been completed. "We believe the Ministry owes (the reporter) an
apology for the way he was treated. The investigation shows the staff member was over-enthusi-astic and he is being counselled for his enthusiasm.” Major Wicksteed said the man had acted in the best intent but in the wrong way.
