Service on Ice
A memorial service was held at McMurdo Station in Antarctica on Tuesday evening for the two American men who died after falling into a crevasse last Sunday. The bodies of James Emmett Smith and Matthew Kaz were flown to Christchurch on Tues-
day morning, and would probably be flown to the United States today, said the Christchurch representative of the United States National Science Foundation, Mr Ken Moulton. They had been on a 6km hike but strayed from a marked track.
