Harbour pollution
Sir, — Even a quango with such awesome power as the Board of Health is having second thoughts on suspect advice, particularly when it emanates from a source with such a sad record as the Health Department. I would not presume te corrupt the intelligence of people in Governor’s Bay, only echo their indignation when confronted by unfounded public statements. If John Wanklyn had spent more time investigating alternatives to the discredited scheme he would now be affecting the decisionmaking process. Recommended reading should be an inter-office memo, Health Department in Christchurch to Wellington with the very curious reference to the council’s attitude following within days of the ratepayers’ poll.—Yours, etc.,
RALPH WOODWARD.
