Mexican sympathy with Minister

of NZPA Mexico City Mexicans sympathise with the decision by the Minister of Overseas Trade and Marketing, Mr Moore, to return to New Zealand to see a dying relative, the trade mission he left behind was told yesterday. Mr Moore, who had been leading a five-coun-try trade mission through Latin America, decided to return to New Zealand at the week-end to be at the side of his nephew, aged 20, who is dying of cance,r. Commission officials have said it will be business as usual in spite of
Mr Moore’s departure.
The mission left Venezuela early yesterday and flew to Mexico City on the last leg of its three-week trip. At a briefing soon after the mission’s arrival, the New Zealand Ambassador, Mr Rodney Denham, said Mr Moore’s departure was not as serious as many might have thought. His decision to be with his family would be strongly supported by the. Mexican people. There might even be some sympathy towards the New Zealanders. The Trade-Com chief executive, Mr Neil Wilson, has taken over as mission leader.
