The catalogue is outstanding with many pieces to be sold without reserve. It is a chance for serious collectors to purchase rare items. There are also many small pieces for beginners. The catalogue includes: A magnificent Derby porcelain two-handled hand-painted urn vase, C 1812; a rare Chelsea-Derby figure Cl7BO (both of these are rare by world standards); a pair of French Samson porcelain figures; 18th and 19th Century Dresden, Meissen, Caughley, Davenport; a Royal Worcester two-handled, hand-painted urn, 1898; a rare 19th Century tall Vienna Vase, 51cm; a collection of 24 Hummel figures; Clarice Cliff; a mint 21-piece Royal Bayreuth Teaset; many pieces of black mark Belleek; a delightful large Royal Dux late 19th Century figure piece, 51 x 43cm; a collection of 30 Doulton Character Jugs, including nine tinies; many other pieces of Doulton including a rare figure of Darling H.N.I, signed in brushpoint by Charles Vyse; good Moorcroft, Royal Albert, Rosenthal. Some marvellous small hand-painted cups and saucers. ORIENTAL: This section is also outstanding and is highlighted by a set of 18 superbly carved wood and ivory figures; a Chinese yellow porcelain brushpot, late Ching period; a pair of Wall Vases, these magnificent examples bearing the mark of Chien Lung (17361796); a lovely 18th Century porcelain brush washer; an Imperial yellow glaze Dragon Bowl; a 19th Century Chinese Jade Sceptre; an interesting Mythical Animal Lidded Urn; a Japanese Lidded Burial Urn and many small pieces including ivory, wood block prints, etc. Paintings include a major oil on canvas of Dusky Sound, 60 x 90, by T. R. Attwood. This has been in one family for many years. Other paintings by Thomas Ryan, Beatrice Partridge, J. E. Moultray, James Peele, H. Linley Richardson, six Blythe Fletchers, W. S. Wauchop, W. Allan Bollard, Austen Deans and a fine Maori portrait by H. Moore-Jones. An excellent oil on canvas by Jonathan White Bligh Sound, Fiordland. Also of interest will be a fine watercolour, unsigned, of Barnard Castle, Durham, attributed, to and with evidence that it is by Samuel Prout (C 1783-1852 Furniture includes a fine Victorian Vitrine (from Seymour Court, England), a mahogany chiffonier bookcase, two Victorian chiffoniers, a Davenport, a magnificent burr walnut serpentine front card table, a twin pedestal mahogany sideboard, a rare Oak Baroque-style ornate carved dining table and an amazing French walnut double size bed with matching head, foot and side rails. Objects of interest include an art noveau signed marble lamp; a good Victorian clock set; a fine hand cut crystal bowl; a Victorian inlaid parquetry gentleman’s writing box; a good set of brass beam scales, with weights; a fine etching on ivory, signed and dated; three sets of children’s cups, saucers and plates; a hanging ruby glass lamp; a dolls’ pram; a cane dolls’ cradle;'a child’s wooden rocking chair (it converts to a highchair); an Edison Standard Phonograph; a good double-weight Vienna Regulator Clock by Lenzkirch; 10 sterling silver teaspoons with 22ct gold shields; a good copy of Chaffers Book of Marks, published in 1908; an outstanding photograph by George Chance. Some interesting jewellery items including hat pins, stickpins, sterling silver bracelets, perfume bottle pendants, a good 68cm 18ct gold chain; gold earrings and wedding and dress rings. A well-crafted 9ct Gold Ball (it converts into a gold Masonic cross — a rare example of the goldsmith’s art). Good glass including many ruby pieces, carnival glass and hand enamelled gold leaf pieces. The sterling silver entry is small but good. A marvellous art nouveau centrepiece, culminating with a glass tulip vase, a beautiful large Punch Bowl and an important four-piece tea service, London, 1881, with clear bright-cut lines.
