Partnership keeps College from win
Only one wicket was between Christ’s College and outright victory in its annual first XI cricket match against Otago Boys’ High School at Christ's College. Needing 120 to win in llOmin on the second day of the match Otago was 94 for nine at stumps, the last pair holding out for four overs. The College captain, David Mills, opening the bowling.
had taken seven wickets for 38' runs with his off-spinners. Scores:— Christ’s College 118 (J. Murray 58, C. Fairbairn 22 n. 0.) and 180 (N. Greenwood 54, Murray 30, D. Mills 22; C. Horne 5/74) drew with Otago 177 (G. Snell 54, G. Strang 31; N-r Dawson 3/22, J. Hazlett 4/ 3SR’. and 94/9 (J. Garry 49; Muis 7/38).
