Big plans for gardens
PA Hamilton A proposed facelift for Hamilton Gardens could put it in the same league as Kew Gardens in London, according to the botanist and conservationist, Dr David Bellamy. He said this when speaking to about 300 Hamilton people via satellite at the launching of Hamilton Gardens building project. When complete, the $2 million scheme will include waterfall gardens, a sister-city garden and a Mother Earth section, and will cover 51 hectares. Dr Bellamy said he believed the site for the gardens was originally a rubbish dump.
