Airline introduces a touch of class

When the wraps came off Air Canada’s new Executive Class earlier this year, business travellers in North America experienced a service that is quite literally in a class by itself. The list of refinements runs the gamut from the swank luxury of the widebody cabins to the elegant cuisine to the comfort of the Italian-designed seats. “The quality and style of this service is quite unparalleled in business travel,” says Leo Desrochers, Air Canada’s vicepresident, passenger marketing for North America. “We make that statement with confidence because Executive Class is a painstakingly - researched product It is tailor-made to the wants, needs and whims of today’s business traveller.” The introduction of this service on Air Canada’s fleet of B-767s followed two years of research. Five different studies were conducted with more than 600 business travellers as well as consultation with Air Canada sales personnel and major travel agents. This kind of extensive planning has helped shape Executive Class and the results speak for themselves.

Air Canada is the first airline in Canada to offer telephones on board the aircraft to help the business traveller who wants

to make travel arrangements, set up meetings or simply check in with the office. Four telephone units

are available on each B--767 and one unit is located in the Executive Class cabin. The phones accept major credit cards

and allow the passenger to take the cordless handset and make the call from the comfort of his or her own seat
