Nomination a birthday gift
PANew Plymouth Kevin Steele got an unusual present for his thirty-eighth birthday yesterday - he became the Democratic Party’s candidate for the New Plymouth electorate. The technical manager and sales engineer was the sole nomination for the job of representing his party at the General Election next year. The Democratic candidate in 1984, Mr George McPeak, chose not to stand again. Mr Steele is married, with two children, and has lived in New Plymouth for six months.
