Fashion show at Palladium
The Streetwalk 87 fashion spectacular, to be held at the new Palladium nightclub on Sunday evening, will be the first function to use the nightclub as a venue. The co-ordinator of Streetwalk 87, Ms Tania McVicar, the manageress of Friends boutique, describes it as more a show than a fashion parade. She says the spectacular lighting effects at the Palladium will be used to advantage, and modern music and special accessories will add to the atmosphere. Ms McVicar says the public seldom has an opportunity to see really professionally presented fashion parades, as these are often invitation-only
events for those involved with the trade. “They can be great entertainment if they are done properly,” she says. Streetwalk 87 aims to show mid-summer fashion collections in the best possible way, and Ms McVicar hopes to make it the beginning of a series of seasonal showings. The latest styles for men and women of all ages will be paraded by professional models from Pieter’s and Spotlight model agencies, and the clothes range from the ultra-sophisticated to fun clothing for the young. Drinks and snacks will be served, and there will be full bar facilities and dancing. Ticket sales are limited to 350.
