New president of accountants
Mr Malcolm Ott (right) of Christchurch, was elected president of the New Zealand Society of Accountants at the first meeting of the society’s new council in Blenheim. He succeeds Mr Gary Lloyd, of Auckland. Mr Ott, who was vicepresident of the society, is chairman of the New Zea-land-wide chartered accountancy firm of Lawrence Anderson Buddle, and a partner in their Christchurch office. He is a fellow of the Society of Accountants and has been a member of their council since 1979. Mr Ott has been active in many national and branch committees of the society and was closely involved with the recent ethics changes which have allowed accountants more freedom to market their services. He is director of several companies and is the Christchurch consular agent representative for the United States Government.
Mr R. W. Eglinton, of Palmerston North, is the
new first vice-president and Mr A. H. Frankham, of Auckland, the second vice-president.
