Ewes with lamb at foot in demand

A keen inquiry for store sheep — in particular ewes with lambs at foot — was a feature of the Addington market yesterday. ’ Most shorn and woolly ewes with lambs at foot sold between $9.60 and $l3 (all counted), while a pen of wellgrown new season’s store lambs made $16.60. In the prime lamb pens, a small offering of spring lambs sold very strongly at prices of $2O to $29.60. Prime hoggets Good-cutting hoggets continued to sell quite well at prices fully firm with last week, but demand eased for inferior hoggets.
