Buses off
Christchurch Transport Board buses will be off the road tomorrow for about two hours while drivers hold a stop-work meeting.
Services will wind down from about 9.15 a.m. and should resume by 1.30 p.m. People wanting information about bus times should telephone 794-600. The meeting would be an annual general meeting where union members would vote on compulsory unionism, said the secretary of the Canterbury branch of the Tramway Workers’ Union, Mr Brian Smith.
