Jeweller under desk
PA Auckland A mid-city Auckland jeweller telephoned the police from under a desk yesterday as two masked robbers took rings and pendants valued at $250,000, his father said last evening. Mr Math Timmermans, the shop owner, said that the two men, one with a sawn-off shotgun, entered the shop at 2.45 p.m. wearing full-face crash helmets. “Stephen (his son) grabbed the telephone, hid under the desk and dialled the 111 emergency line.
