By
WHIM WHAM

Ministers, representing the taxpayer, would not permit the new organisations to disguise their own inefficiencies under a heading of “social obligations” ... — News.
Government Departments Have Bureaucrats — Corporations have Executives, And of course That’s The highly significant Difference Between the Two — I’d rather have a Corporation messing Things up, wouldn’t You? They do It so much more efficiently Than Governments do! We’ve got Corporations, And More by the Minute — ■ A Pie with the Government’s Finger in It, Not much Gravy left for Social Occasions, When we’ve painted the Post Offices And Railway Stations, And shown a handy Profit on the Year’s Operations! This Way, the Government Feels no Flak — Like Water off a Duck’s, or A Minister’s Back — Was the Service rotten? That’s too bad! Think of the Economy, And be glad — The User has paid for what The User has had!
