Family reunited
NZPA-AP Los Angeles A girl who turned in her parents for allegedly using drugs can continue to live with them, a jtxdge has decided. Judge David Carter, of the Juvenile Court, agreed to a request from the Orange County Department of Social Services for its petition, alleging that Deanna Young’s parents were unfit, to be dismissed. “We’re just very happy to be all back together,” said her mother, Judith, outside court. “We’ll move on. to the
next step now,” said the father, Bobby. Deanna, aged 13, was not at the hearing. After a lecture on drugs at a church she walked into a police station in Tustin on August 12 carrying a bag containing drugs she said she collected at her home. Her parents were charged with cocaine possession. Deanna was placed in a county children’s shelter but the next day her attorney said the girl wanted to return home.
