Original founder now company director
An original founder of Huston and Butcher, Ltd, has remained with Accord Electroplating, Ltd, as a director of the company. Mr Leslie Huston began work in the electroplating trade in 1930 with Mr D. C. McDonald and Co. In 1945, he went into business on his own account with Mr W. N. Butcher, forming Huston and Butcher, Ltd. Twelve years later, in 1958, Mr Huston purchased all the company shares. This company bought out L. W. Warren,
Ltd, in 1967, and has continued at the Montreal Street site ever since. During his 56 years in the business, Mr Huston has travelled extensively overseas to keep up with technological trends. He maintains personal contacts with electroplaters in England, Australia, the United States, Canada and Japan. Mr Huston is also a member, of the Institute of Metal Finishing of Great Britain and of the Australasian Institute of Metal Finishing.
