Reserve may be created
A reserve may be created in Hannan Street, Addington. The Christchurch City Council is considering buying 4000 sq m of land, next to council housing, in the street and an adjoining residential property to establish the reserve. A children’s play area was sought by residents as part of development of the neighbourhood. The 4000 sq m of land has an assessed value of $90,000. Payment would be spread over a period. Council officers believe the residential land is needed to create sufficient area.
The purchase of the lane is envisaged for the 1987-88 financial year.
