Mairo Sultan to resume soon
Special correspondent Auckland Mairo Sultan, this year’s Rowe Cup Winner, may resume racing on the later nights of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting this month. He was turned out for five weeks after the country’s richest race for trotters in May. In the last couple of months he has done a lot of jogging, according to his trainer, Keith Miller. “It is only in the last few weeks,” Miller said yesterday, “that he has been speeding up.”
Mairo Sultan had seven wins and three minor
placings from 16 races jast season and he was a clear-cut winner of the trotter of the year award.
