Cigarettes stolen
About 80,000 cigarettes were stolen early yesterday morning after burglars broke ‘through the roof of a Sydenham warehouse. The burglars took eight large, cartons, each containing 10,000 cigarettes, from the Carlyle Street warehouse of T.N.L. Freighting, Ltd. The company’s southern area manager, Mr John Tilby, said yesterday that a stock-take was still being done, but it seemed that cigarettes valued at about $16,000 had been taken. The burglars left many more cigarettes than they took.
