Members, whose ages range from 15 to 23 years, will also have a busy round of sightseeing during the tour, which includes the lower South Island. Since its formation in 1966 for a music festival, the Q.Y.O. has become an independent organisation with nearly 400 members, and it has toured throughout Europe and Asia. In 1983 it was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Trust Award for Young Australians.
