Williamson prevails at Templeton
Three members of last year’s Canterbury fiveman golf team, John Williamson, Brent Patterson and Mark Street, were among the four players who fought out a close finish to the Templeton, club’s 36-hole open tournament on Sunday. Williamson prevailed at the finish, two steady par rounds of 73 giving him a . two-shot advantage over ■ his Canterbury teammates and the North Canterbury No 1, Russell Start. Paterson, the Canterbury and South Island stroke champion, had two rounds of 74 as did Street, the winner of the Lincoln open. Start, this season’s Burnham open titleholder, had scores of 76 and 72. Williamson made his winning move at the start of the second round.
