United all clear to untimely Fiji tour

Christchurch Brother United will not stand in the way of any of its players chosen in the New Zealand soccer team to tour Fiji later this month. The tour, with internationals in Suva on September 17 and Lautoka two days later, could not come at a worse time for United. The team will be in Fiji for five days in between the twentieth and the penultimate rounds of the Rothmans League, would release any United players invited to make the tour. The team coach, Mr lan Marshall, expressed concern at the timing of the two-match trip. “Certainly the timing is not the best.
