TRAINEE SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER Colonial Mutual is seeking an experienced computer professional with a sound working. knowledge of operating systems and job control language (preferably VME and SCL) to fill the position of Trainee Systems Programmer in Wellington. This vacancy has arisen due to growth and responsibilities of our Information Services Division, in conjunction with the imminent installation of dual 1CL2966 main vframe. Hence the planned activities in the near future offer a unique opportunity to learn the environment in addition to longer term career prospects. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Systems Programmer who is responsible for all aspects of technical support within the division. We envisage that applicants will have spend at least 3 years in operations, be 20-25 years of age, withU.E. Further desirable skills include: — Exposure to IDMS, TPMS, COBOL (or equivalent). — Ability to grasp new concepts and quickly translate these into practice. — Enthusiasm to learn and be an effective team worker. — Meticulous attitude to detail. All necessary training will be provided by Colonial Mutual. Applicants must be prepared to work overtime including some week-ends.
