New module from Sybiz
Sybiz Distributors, Ltd, has introduced for the first time a new software module designed for small businesses using computerised accounting. Called “Bookworker,” the entry-level program provides an easy transition from a totally manual accounting system to a computerised one. Already available in New Zealand through official Sybiz dealers, “Bookworker” will also be launched in Australia.
The big advantage of “Bookworker” is that it is based on a manual, rather than a ledger system, but at the same time allows an easy upgrade path to other more sophisticated Sybiz products, such as Sybiz 5G and Sybiz Plus, for larger, more complex accounting needs. “Bookworker” provides all the basic accounting functions such as debtors, creditors, stock, invoicing and general ledger.
The centre of the system is the ledger book which automatically brings together the transactions processed through other books to produce profit and loss statements and balance sheets. The ledger book is organised into sections according to the major groupings of general ledger accounts. Sybiz software was originally developed in Australia, but has been substantially enhanced in New Zealand to suit local accounting and business conditions.
In line with a newlyformed distribution network for Sybiz in New Zealand, the software will only be available through official Sybiz dealers. Cogito Systems, Ltd, is one of three Sybiz microcomputer business software dealers appointed in the Christchurch area.
The company’s managing director, Mr Mark Schroeder, said the inclusion of Sybiz software for small businesses was a natural complement to his company’s already established reputation in minicomputer systems for larger organisations. Traditionally a software house, Cogito Systems has focused on developing software for medium to large companies. But, Mr Schroeder said small business was also an important part of local business activity. Cogito selected Sybiz as its sole microcomputer software package because of the company’s professional, innovative approach to the market, he said.
