Sir David Beattie (top) has been appointed to the board of directors of General Finance, Ltd — the wholly owned finance company subsidiary of The National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd. He had a distinguished careeer as a barrister and as a High Court judge before his appointment to the post of Governor General in 1980, and also serves on the boards of a number of other organisations, including The National Bank. Mr John Pugh (above) has also been appointed to the board. He joined The National Bank in Christchurch in 1949. Since then he has held a number of managerial positions including Christchurch branch, and chief manager London, until the appointment to assistant general manager in 1985.
