Victoria University appointees
PA Wellington Professor Graeme Fogelberg and Professor Stuart Johnston will take over as the Deputy ViceChancellor and Assistant Vice-Chancellor respectively at Victoria University from next year. Professor Fogelberg succeeds Dr Tim Beaglehole as of February next year, and Professor Johnston replaces Professor Chris Deardon, effective mid-1987. Professor Fogelberg, from the business administration department, will have special responsibilities for financial management and control, and improving the university’s management system. Professor Johnston was Assistant Vice-Chancellor as long ago as 1960, and was academic pro vicechancellor 1977-80. He was dean of languages and literature 1972-75, and chairman of the English department in 1976. Dr Beaglehole and Professor Deardon are returning to their former positions as reader in history and professor of classics respectively.
