FEC abolition
China will abolish its parallel currency called foreign exchange certificates on November 1, according to a pro-Peking newspaper in Hong Kong. The "Wen Wei Po”, quoting authoritative sources in Peking, said the Bank of China would stop issuing the certificates in October, six years after they were introduced for use primarily by foreigners.
