Greyhounds Magic Command face tough test at Claudelands

by

STEVE WILSON

The highly promising Magic Command faces his toughest test to date when he contests the $2500 Double Brown InterIsland Challenge at the Waikato' Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting at Claudelands today.

The Ron Blackburntrained dog is one of five South Island representatives in the event. Magic Command showed that he was ready for the race when he recorded an easy win at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Tuesday evening.

The son of Club’s Col-ours-Tredeka Lass is one of the most exciting prospects produced in Canterbury in recent seasons. He

should be given every opportunity to make a bold showing in today’s event with the advantage of drawing box No. 1.

There will be a lot of support for the Aucklandtrained Uli Uli which made a sucessful visit to Christchurch in July. Although defeated at his last outing, he is sure to make a big showing and will probably be the favourite.

The Ray Adcocktrained Miss Janine will not be out of her depth here and will be suited by the Claudelands track, while Weeny Wadderin has not shown her best form on her northern tour to date and is capable of better.
