Entrepreneur beaten
A Christchurch entrepreneur. is still -in Burwood Hospital after being badly beaten - at his Worcester Street office on Friday evening. The man and his partner, both of whom declined to be named, were attacked by four people about 11.15 p.m. One man was working in an upstairs office, just east of Cathedral Square, when the two meh and two women burst . into the room. They kicked and punched him. His partner arrived during the attack and fled, chased by the four into a car-park where he also was beaten and kicked, and threatened with a knife. A police spokesman for the persons squad, which
deals with personal assaults, said yesterday that the four were known to the two men. They were “skinhead, boot boy, types.” \ He said they ran in the direction of the Square after the assaults and probably drew attention to themselves. The persons squad wanted to hear from anyone who saw them. The spokesman said the motive for the attack was not clear. The police were making background inquiries yesterday. The man attacked in the office was discharged from hospital. His partner was in a comfortable condition and expected to be discharged today, the spokesman said.
